NY Newsday‘s got an exceptionally interesting feature today on the struggle of the 600 remaining Samaritans in Mount Gezirim and Holon to preserve their culture in the face of an ever-encroaching outside world, and tells the story of Sophie Sedaka, a Samaritan-born actress, whose plight is rather reminiscent of those who leave the Hasidic community here in America.
