Teacher suspended for showing ‘Passion’ clips
“An elementary school teacher was suspended last week after school officials learned that he showed [his sixth grade] students excerpts from the movie The Passion of the Christ.”

It’s completely inappropriate and everyone knows it. Let’s forget about the theological points for a reason. I know people who’ve seen it and love it, and others who hate it, and one devout Baptist who will not see it due to the violence. And that’s the problem: this movie almost got the next rating UP from “R” due to the violence, but was released with an “R.” No matter what the theme, it’s an extremely violent movie (whether people don’t like it or like it) and the decision to show that much violence to a youngster should be up to the parent. This teacher deserved to be suspended because if he had shown any other movie like that with that much violence and the school or parents had found out he would have been gone.
