Toys For Torah Tots
Ever wanted to play a card game about the prohibitions of Shabbat? Perhaps ‘Memory’, featuring your favorite rabbanim? Have you ever wanted a doll that was dressed like a seminary girl? Steven I. Weiss has your number: A growing collection of “frum toys,” now on Canonist.
when i had a post on the Gali Girls a couple of months ago, a dozen bloggers told me i was behind the times as there was already significant talk in the sphere about the frum cabbage patch knock offs. But when shleve does it…
Anyone else remember the rabbi ‘baseball’ cards in There’s Something About Mary? Life imitates art again.
The horror…….The horror…….
Subject: Sound Therapy Program
Greetings! – The reason that I am writing to you is to discuss my Sound
Therapy Program. Basically, it is sound – not music – designed to lessen the
symptoms of Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome in infants, kids and adults. The
wonderful spillover effect of it is that it also increases the amount and
speed of brain synapse connections. Consequently, this then enhances the
development of the entire neural networking system, with wonderful results:
1) Stimulating consumption of glucose, resulting in greater overall brain
activity, and 2) Prolonging focus, concentration and memory. Other, more
technical aspects involving brainwave frequencies are: 1) Beta (12-23 Hz),
the normal waking state. 2) Alpha (8-12 Hz), indicative of relaxed mind and
body, wherein accelerated learning occurs. 3) Theta (4-8 Hz), the tranquil
mind-body healing state, and 4) Delta (0.5-4 Hz) deep sleep. Imagine the
vibration from the sound of a cello – the closest sound to the human voice –
gently smoothing-out a glass of sand until it is perfectly flat. Just as
water flows from the fountain of human potential, such is the effect of The
Sound Therapy Program upon the brain, literally and figuratively. Some of my
background: I will be 52 Dec. 2nd. Nice Jewish guy from Brooklyn, NY.
Playing piano since age 6 and guitar intermittingly in between. I have a
degree in Early Childhood Music Education from The College of Santa Fe. At
Brooklyn College, studied piano with Paul Jacobs, former resident pianist
with The New York Philharmonic, and Augustus Anievas, one of the world’s
leading interpreters of Mozart. In addition, I also took classes in
electronic music with Pulitzer Prize winner Jacob Druckman. In order for any
product to be successful, it must fullfil two basic requirements. First,
that it is a wonderful and indispensable product that a consumer cannot live
without. Second, that it be completely unique in that there is simply
nothing else like it available anywhere. My goal is to create a marketable
CD. Here is what I have in mind – a 50/50 partnership with you.
Specifically, if this is agreeable to you, a working together approach
whereby you engineer, record and produce The Sound Therapy CD. I have no
experience in marketing and distributing a CD, but I’m assuming that you
have. My contact information: Cliff Zimmerman – 1321 Preakness Dr. –
Alpharetta, GA 30022-6847. Phone # 770-640-6252. I frequently travel, so
logistics are not a problem. No one has developed a program even remotely
similar to this. It is cutting-edge research and can positively modify the
brain chemistry of infants and children afflicted with severe problems. I am
convinced that, if marketed properly, we can generate huge sales and make
more than a few dollars in the process. It can be recorded in just a short
space of time, at little cost. Excellence always requires time and effort,
and the result is a complete win-win situation – everybody benefits and
profits. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Take good care! – Cliff
