the whole point of sending the dove is that noah brought 7 pairs of doves because they are a kosher animal.
right before sending a dove, he sent a raven (a non kosher animal because it’s a bird of prey). the midrash goes that the raven came back and said “noah i could have died and my whole species would have been wiped out!” – it was at that point that he sent the dove.
so there. and i like ducks!
