Courteney Cox and David Arquette have publicly explained their choice for the daughter’s bizarre name. It seems the reason is out of respect for Jewish traditions, which doesnt support naming a child for a living relative. Courtney is a southerner who comes from a long line of Courtneys, but David’s mom is Jewish. Since they couldn’t name her Courtney, they chose the Rashei Teyvos (initials) of her name to form the acronym Coco. Too bad the kid is not a Kabbalah convert, then perhaps she would have a Hebrew name.
