#TBT Joseph Dov Wins #Write4Good Prize for "UCARE: What is it, and why should you?"

We at Jewschool are proud to provide a platform for excellent writing from a progressive Jewish perspective and we’re delighted when our writers get the recognition they deserve. For today’s Throwback Thursday, we are happy to re-run Joseph Dov’s feature from a couple of months ago about UCARE, Unaccompanied Central American Refugee Empowerment, a coalition of faith and community leaders in the Los Angeles area working to help these children gain asylum here in the U.S., and ease their transition once they accomplish that. His piece was just awarded third place in the #Write4Good challenge, which will earn the writer $1,000 in scholarship funding. Mazal tov, Joseph Dov, and keep on writing for good Jewschool and elsewhere.
Here, again, is Joseph Dov’s piece, “UCARE: What is it, and why should you?”
