Democracy defenders rally for Israeli human rights groups

In the wake of a video that’s made Israeli human rights groups afraid for their own safety, a chorus of voices beyond the usual suspects demanded that Prime Minister Netanyahu denounce it and related incitement against Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin. The video identified by name spokespeople of four Israeli human rights organizations and labeled them “foreign agents” that supported terrorism. Sternly objecting to the portrayal of human rights advocates as traitors includes the ADL’s new CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, the bodies of the Conservative/Masorti movement, the Reform Zionist movement, and liberal Israel groups.
